| | Any case study for a large project server configuration? We are in the process of configuring an MS project 2007 Server for a large EPM environment. The requirement is close to a 'Program Mgmt' type of Installation. Based on information at the microsoft website, we know that there are some software limitations (ex: size of the plan, #lines in a plan, # of base lines, # of resources, # of sub-projects etc.) as well as limitations due to server farm configuration. Ex: How true is the limitation of 11 baselines for a project?
Apart from those concerns, I am wondering how much performance improvement there would be by configuring it as a multi-tier 'multi-server' environment vs. our 2-server (1 for apps/web/sharedpointservices and 1 for DB) architecture. I understand that the hardware specs. for the server are important as well, but any general information on best practices for configuration would be appreciated.
Thank you. Prasad. | |
